Do You Take Insurance at Anderson Integrative Medicine?

One of the most common questions I get, especially on social media and online, is simple:
“Do you take insurance?”
The answer is no.
And once patients understand why, many of them are actually very thankful that we don’t.

Why Most Medical Care Is Built Around Insurance
Traditional medical practices operate within what’s called an insurance model of care. That means insurance companies set very specific rules about what providers can test, diagnose, and treat.
If a provider signs a contract with an insurance company, they are agreeing to follow those rules.
That affects things like:
What lab tests can be ordered
How long appointments can be
What treatments are allowed
What diagnoses are considered “covered”
The result is that care often becomes protocol-driven instead of individualized.
Many patients come to our clinic after years of seeing doctors, taking medications, and still not feeling like themselves.
For example, I regularly see patients who have been taking medication for hypothyroidism for years but still feel exhausted, foggy, inflamed, and unwell.
That doesn’t necessarily mean their doctors did anything wrong.
It simply means those providers are working within the limitations of the insurance model.
My Personal Experience Changed Everything
My perspective on healthcare changed dramatically when I turned 40.
Like many women entering midlife, I experienced significant hormonal changes. I didn’t feel like myself. My energy was gone. My mood was unstable. My mental clarity disappeared.
It was one of the hardest periods of my life.
There was nothing the traditional insurance-based system offered that would have given me the answers or care I needed at that time.
To find solutions, I had to step outside of the insurance model and pursue deeper testing, root-cause investigation, and personalized treatment.
That experience didn’t just change my health.
It changed the way I practice medicine.
Why Anderson Integrative Medicine Operates Differently
At Anderson Integrative Medicine, we operate outside of the insurance system so we can provide care that is:
Personalized
Evidence-based
Root-cause focused
Guided by current medical literature
Insurance companies typically reimburse for care based on older standards and billing codes. Many of the advanced diagnostic tools and treatments used in functional and integrative medicine simply don’t fit into those contracts.
If I were to sign an insurance contract, the care I could provide would be significantly limited.
That’s not the type of medicine I believe in.
Investing in Your Health
When patients begin working with us, I often explain it this way:
Investing in your health is similar to investing in your financial future.
When you consistently invest in your health (through the right testing, treatment, and lifestyle support) the returns compound over time.
More energy.
Better sleep.
Clearer thinking.
Stronger relationships.
A body that supports the life you want to live.
I’m now ten years into this approach to health, and the results speak for themselves.
I’m 50 years old, I feel amazing, my husband feels amazing, and our quality of life is something I truly value protecting.
The Bottom Line
So when patients ask:
“Do you take insurance?”
The answer is no.
And that decision allows us to deliver the kind of personalized, comprehensive care many patients have been searching for after years of frustration in the traditional system.
